Depths of Darkness is a roguelike with simple gameplay in which your objective is to reach level 99 of a monster-infested dungeon, gathering as many treasures as you can along the way.
Unlike other games from the same genre, Depths of Darkness is controlled exclusively with your mouse, and playing is very simple and intuitive. To pick up objects, for example, you just need to make sure your character is standing over them, which automatically adds them to your inventory.
Combat is also very simple: you attack first, and the monster responds, which means that if your opponent is stronger, you will be killed with its counterattack, and you'll have to start all over again. Luckily, you're able to see an enemy's level before you attack, so you can decide which one is best to kill first.
Depths of Darkness is a roguelike with very few options, which surprisingly is what makes it so fun and addictive. Getting to the end of the dungeon and defeating the final boss is not a task to be undertaken lightly.
